Guide
to using X2 Programmer with X2.3B Lite & X2BM v2.2 Requirements: Xecuter2
Modchip (Guide shows 2.3B but is same method for all) X2 External Programmer
HERE X2 Bios Manager
v2.2 HERE 3ft
DB25 Parallel Cable Bios files for flashing Connect
the mod to the programmer as follows. Plug the USB cable into your PC for power.
Connect the X2 Programmer
to your PC Printer (LPT) port. The mod's LED's should light up and there should
be 2 red led's on the programmer.

Run X2 Bios Manager v2.2
(X2BM) - you may get an IO error - just click ok and run again (this installs
the io.dll for Win2k/XP machines)

Set the Flash Type
to X2 Lite

Set the LPT Port
to whatever it is set to on your machine (default is usually 378)

The X2 should now
detect successfully. If it doesn't then use a better quality printer cable / check
your LPT IO settings / unload any memory resident programs that maybe affecting
your LPT port.

You can check the
ID code of your X2 by clicking "Info" - it should read "01D5"

If it can't detect
the X2 the error screen will look like this

OK Now right click
on the first bios bank and select "Open"

For this example
we are putting FlashBIOS v2.6.0 in the first 512k area of the mod. As you can
see the bios is 256k - however X2BM copies it automatically into the first 2 banks
(X2 is 2 x 512k bios banks)

Now right click on
bank 3 and select "Open"

For this example
we are going to load X2 4983.06

Click on "Flash"
to start programming the X2

First it erases
the mod...
Then starts
to flash Bank 1....
Then Bank 2...
Then Bank 3...

And finally Bank
4...

Success !

Now you can either
fit your mod or do some further tests just to make sure 100% that everything is
gravy. First let's verify that the mod programmed correctly. Click "Verify" -
this will verify the mods flash contents with the contents of the bios's loaded
into X2BM's memory.

Now you can
read the full 1MB bios from the mod into X2BM's memory - this will check the bios
with X2BM's MD5 listing and will display the name of the bios if the read worked
perfectly (of course you must make sure the names of the bios's are in the MD5
list - if they are not just right click on the bios bank with the bios and select
rename and enter it manually). Clear the Bios banks first selecting all the bios
banks and then click "Clear" (this erases from PC memory not the Modchip)

Now click "Read"

As you can see the
bios names are detected against X2BM's MD5 list - also note File description is
<Direct from Xecuter2 Lite>

If you wish to save
your 1MB bios compilation simply click on save and then name it.

Hope this helps -
