This guide details the pin header installation for the X3CE chip for motherboard V1.0 - V1.6b.
This method requires basic soldering skills, please refer to this guide for information on how to solder.
Tools required:

Soldering iron - A basic soldering iron will do with an output of
around 15W, too hot an iron could cause problems for beginers.
- Solder
- Flux paste and pen - these are recomended to ensure a clean strong connection
- Electrical tape
- Torx screwdrivers - Torx 10 and Torx 20
Version 1.0
The V1.0 motherboard has the LPC points filled with solder, it is recomended to use the supplied wired pinheader.
It is possible to remove the solder from the LPC ports if you have the correct equipment.
Version 1.6
The
V1.6 motherboards will require a LPC rebuild and a pin to be removed
from the pin header before soldering into the LPC. A 5v wire is also
provided for this version mother board. |
